CCM SPORTS EXCELLENCE

The SportsDome is proud to partner with the Atlantic Hockey Group to offer after-school hockey programming for children in the Greater Moncton area.

CCM Program Outline

The program is targeting students in the 2013 to 2011 birth years for 2023-24

1) On-ice training at the Superior Propane Centre

  • October to March
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm
  • 32 one-hour sessions
  • All on-ice sessions will be led by Atlantic Hockey Group senior hockey staff members including Nick Smith, Roland Collette, Brandon Bourgeois, Lloyd Watling (BAM power skating) as well as Dave Kennedy (Atlantic Goaltending Academy).  Guest instructors may be brought in as well. Lead instructors will be supported by Junior staff members.  A minimum of 3 on-ice instructors per sessions.

2) Off-ice training at the Moncton SportsDome

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday (October to March)
  • Monday to Friday (September, April, May, June)
  • multi-sport training
  • All sessions will be led and/or supervised by Moncton SportsDome experienced team members.  Guest instructors will provide training in the sports of soccer, lacrosse, golf, volleyball, etc. Aerobic , agility, yoga and strength and conditioning sessions to be included as well.  Classroom session will include expert speakers on such topics as nutrition and sports psychology.  NOTE Charlie Bourgeois Gym / classroom will be made available at Superior Propane Centre.

3) Transportation and pickup

  • STUDENTS will be transported from the school to the Superior Propane Center and/or Moncton SportsDome with SportsDome Bus and/or vans
  • On-Ice and Off-Ice programming will finish around 4:30pm each day.
  • Parents/guardians can pick up STUDENT
    • Superior Propane Center around 4:45pm
    • SportsDome between 4:45pm to 5:30pm

4) Hockey Equipment

  • There will be a hockey equipment room at the SportsDome with a lock
  • Each STUDENT will be able to store their equipment in the equipment room
  • STUDENT/family can drop off/retrieve equipment anytime the SportsDome is open
  • Hockey equipment will be transported from the SportsDome to the Superior Propane Center for the on-ice session and back to the SportsDome for storage, unless parents bring the equipment home after a pickup

The program will start in September 2023.

5) Pricing

  • $147 per week, taxes included
  • Payable every 2 weeks
  • We will provide an official tax receipt at the end of the year as CCM hockey school sports is a tax deductible expense.

Information Session

There will be an information session for families.  The session will be announced at a future date.

Leaders of the program will be there to present the program and answer any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much ice-time will be child get?
A: Two hours per week.  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30

Q: How does my child get to the arena?
A: The SportsDome Academy will pickup the child from selected schools and transport to the Superior Propane Centre or the SportsDome

Q: How do we transport hockey equipment to the arena?
A: There will be a hockey equipment room at the SportsDome with a lock. Parents can drop off or pickup the equipment anytime that the SportsDome is open.  The hockey equipment will be transported back and forth from the SportsDome to the arena and back.

Q: How many spots are there in the program?
A: Phase 1 of the program will have 24 to 30 spots. There are also limited spots for pickup at various schools.

Q: How can I register and guarantee my spot?
A: We will be sending a registration link and form.

Q: Will there be a parent session with more details and questions
A: Yes.  The Atlantic Hockey Group and the SportsDome Academy will arrange a parent session.  Children will also be invited to tour all of the facilities, including the Superior Propane Center, Charlie Bourgeois gym, SportsDome, Locker Area.

Q: When do I have to pick up my child?
A: You can pick up your child at the Superior Propane Center on Tuesdays or Thursdays after 4:30pm OR anytime at the SportsDome until 5:30pm.

Q: What is the cost of the program?
A: $147 per week.  The CCM team has arranged a convenient payment plan where you make your payment biweekly.

Q: How can I make the payments?
A: The SportsDome Academy will setup a payment plan that will automatically charge a credit card every 2 weeks.  Super easy and convenient.

Q: Is the CCM program tax deductible?
A: Yes. We will provide you a tax receipt at the end of the year.

Q: Can I sign up just for the on-ice sessions twice a week?
A: No. STUDENTS that don’t follow the program five days a week will not develop fast enough to keep up with the rest of the group. The 5-day program is carefully designed to progress the hockey player in ALL aspects of the game, both on-ice and off-ice.

Q: What happens in September and October when my child goes to hockey tryouts ?
A: There will be little to no ice-time during September to mid-October because it is important for the player to focus on tryouts and not burnout with too much ice time. The off-ice training during the initial months will also be light and focus on team-building, camaraderie, rules, discipline, familiarity with all of the sports fields and equipment.

Q: My child is currently enrolled in a Daycare. Does your program offer childcare?
A: Yes, the SportsDome Academy offers childcare services.

Q: What happens on PD Days and/or Snow Days when there is no school ?
A: The SportsDome Academy will be open on PD Days and most Snow Days from 7:30am to 5:30pm. You can drop off your child anytime.  There is an additional fee of $15 per day for full day programming.

Q: What are my options during the summer? My daycare forces me to use daycare in the summertime whether we use it or not.
A: You are not obligated to use the SportsDome childcare services during the summer months.  You are also not penalized and your childcare spot is guaranteed even if you do not use childcare services during the summer months.  All CCM STUDENTS are encouraged to participate in Atlantic Hockey Group Hockey Camps during the summer.
